Ian's ambition here is contemporary yet tuneful chamber music, with most tracks written with these players and their instruments in mind: saxophonist Kyle Horch, violinist Guillem Calvo and pianist Pavel Timofejevsky. At the core of the album is a substantial violin sonata.
